What is Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)?
EFT is a modern meridian therapy. It has roots in ancient Chinese medicine and the science of Applied Kinesiology.
It was developed by Gary Craig who was a Stanford trained engineer who worked with Roger Callahan in the early years of Thought Field Therapy. So essentially EFT has been developed from Chinese medicine and the science of Applied Kinesiology.
How does it work?
It is thought that the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system. EFT restores the body’s natural balance, removes the energy disruption and thereby removes the problem. EFT is not harmful at all and often produces extremely fast and brilliant results.
It is done by tapping on the body’s acupressure points (and is often referred to as acupuncture without the needles), this can look a little odd but the effects can be wonderful. EFT can be used for many different reasons such as: phobias, addictions/cravings, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, anxiety, jealousy, pain management and more. As well as adults Lisa has a lot of experience using this with children, many of whom have a wide range of Social, Emotional Behavioural Difficulties.
Research has been done on EFT that proves it is more effective than other therapies such as CBT.
